Although Alison made an astute comment, which was that those ad writers of the 70s and 80s would’ve come of age in the late 60s, so thus imbibed a whole load of illicit substances, then they went had to grow up and get a proper job, so they go into advertising and, well, they simply can’t shuffle off the old influences.
Hence, also, the children’s programmes we grew up with. The most obvious one being Magic Roundabout. I also have the complete Bagpuss on DVD…
