I laughed out loud, twice, while reading this. I could clearly see the Man at Downing 10 drenched in permanent stench... My lord how I wish somebody did it for real and posted the video about it. Just priceless.

Can hardly wait for the next installment!

When I wrote it Boris Johnson was PM - but it can obviously apply to whichever gilded puppet is installed in no. 10. The current occupant certainly.

I do have a detailed outline for that story as it happens and I have been meaning to write it. Given the character of Katy is a writer, and she does sometimes make references to some of the stuff she's written, it would be of postmodern necessity for me to actually write those stories.

But yeah - I would love to see a video of this. Like, even CGI would be fine for me. It would absolutely go viral.

And, naturally, for my non-British readers, substitute the Capitol building and leader of your choice. It applies equally to, say, the White House and the President.

i did enjoy trying to work out the detail in the image. but back to the reading... very engaging. i do like the nonchalant conversational style to the writing. dare I say there are some similarities between us, in that, Evelyn. I sense an enormous amount of material and back story floating about behind the few smippets i have read of this world and i want them all in a nice big book on my bedside table please.

chop chop!

That's a lovely comment to wake up to in my inbox, Nick. Of course I would love to be able to produce a nice big book for one's bedside table. Plus I really do need to get myself properly published sooner rather than later because AI has taken my (translation) job away from me so it's back to poverty land for yours truly.

I have been thinking, though, of quickly knocking up an e-book at least for the first four Katy stories, which amount to around 55k or thereabouts so far. Would you be interested in that? Likewise there's another collection, called 'Immigration Control', which is over 100k (although this does include a fair few things I've published on here already - D-zero meson oscillation is one of them. Ciao Seti would also have been in that collection, although it would work better in the Katy collection.). I'm kind of hoping, though, that I can get to the stage where I have enough paid subscribers to generate a living income. I calculate I would need 100 of them. I have zero so far. So there's some way to go. Time to do more paid-only content I think.

I'm really pleased you are liking this story so far - I am kind of getting an impression that a lot more people enjoy this type of story (compared to my other stuff, I mean, which can get a bit intense, tbh). Fortunately I have a lot more of it.

But yes, there is loads of back story. That's where this new Paschat section comes in.

I love the conversational tone as well as Kathy's character.

Thanks, Hanna! As I just said to Nick I'm getting the impression more people like this kind of stuff. People's likes and comments mean a massive amount to me (as I'm sure you know too), so I am totally grateful!

The tone continues all the way through if I remember correctly. All the Katy stories are similarly written, so if people keep liking them then I shall definitely post them all (and write more).
